Luteosil is prescribed for the treatment of accelerating the reproductive cycle in cows, pigs and mares.
Luteosil is based on the active substance dextrorotatory cloprostanol, which is a synthetic analog of prostaglandin alpha (F2α), in the form of a ready-to-inject solution. Luteosil contains the D enantiomer which is the luteolytic biologically active substance of cloprostanol.
The active ingredient in Luteosyl - (+) Cloprostenol is 3.5 times more active than the racemic mixture of Cloprostenol, so it is possible to use smaller and more effective amounts. In the luteinitizing phase of the sexual cycle, luteosyl in the ovary causes a decrease in LM receptors - and also results in the withdrawal of the corpus luteum and at the same time a sharp decrease in the amount of progesterone. As a result, the rest of the marrow secretes FSH, and this results in the maturation of the follicle for estrus and ovulation.
